Your drain line is failing and somebody has told you the fix means jackhammering your floor.

Florida certified plumbing contractor license. First Choice Plumbing, NuFlow Certified Contractor. Trenchless pipe lining for homes and businesses.
Commercial trenchless pipe lining rebuilds a failing drain line from the inside. A resin saturated liner is pulled into the existing pipe, pressed against the walls, and cured into a new jointless pipe. Commercial trenchless sewer work in Gainesville usually skips the excavation entirely, so a business can often stay open while the line is repaired.

Because the pipe is the cheap part. The expensive part is the week your doors are closed, the floor that has to come back up afterward, the health inspection you now have to schedule around, and the staff you still owe hours to while nobody is seated.
Run the math yourself. A traditional dig and replace on a commercial line commonly takes one to two weeks between demolition, pipe work, backfill, and putting the floor back. Then add whatever a day of your revenue is worth, times ten. That number is almost always larger than the plumbing invoice, and it is the number nobody quotes you.
Meanwhile the line keeps doing what failing lines do. It runs slow, then it backs up on a Friday night, then somebody snakes it and it runs fine for three weeks. You are not really deciding whether to fix the pipe. You are deciding how long you can keep paying for emergency calls before the real bill comes due.
Here is the part that bothers us. In a lot of commercial buildings, the digging was never necessary. The pipe is scaled, cracked, or root filled, but the run itself is still in place and still holding its shape. That is exactly the pipe a liner is designed for. Cutting up your building is not the only way to repair a sewer line, and you deserve to know that before you sign a demolition estimate.
Not sure what is actually wrong yet? Start with the camera.
Our service fee is $69 to come out, and it is waived on larger jobs. Lining is quoted per job after we have cleaned and cameraed the line, because the honest answer depends on diameter, length, how many bends and connections are in the run, and what condition the host pipe is in. You approve the number before anything starts.
For context, and this is industry data rather than our pricing, trenchless lining nationally tends to run in the range of $100 to $300 per linear foot, with a lot of projects landing somewhere between $2,000 and $7,000, and it commonly comes in 20 to 30 percent below open cut replacement on the plumbing invoice alone. That comparison gets a lot wider once you add back the floor, the concrete, the landscaping, and the days you were closed.
What we will not do is quote you a lining job over the phone. Anybody who does is guessing, and on a commercial line that guess is usually low.
First Choice Plumbing is Will Harrod, Florida certified plumbing contractor CFC1430748, Mike on service and drains, Ben helping, and Kim on the phone and dispatch. Small on purpose.
Will does the commercial estimating himself, which means the person who tells you what your building needs is the person holding the license and the camera. If a bid says your line has to come out, ask him why. He will pull up the footage and show you what he saw.
We work through the access you already have. Cleanouts, a stack, a roof drain, a pulled fixture. The line gets cleaned first, because a liner will only follow the shape of what is underneath it. On old commercial cast iron that usually means descaling with a machine that mills the interior back open.
Then we camera it again, measure the run, and cut a liner to length. The liner is saturated with resin, pulled or inverted into position, pressed tight against the host pipe, and cured in place. What you end up with is a jointless pipe inside your old pipe, with no seams for roots to find and a smooth interior that carries flow better than corroded cast iron did.
We are a NuFlow certified contractor and the product we install is NuDrain. It handles lines from about 1.5 inches to 12 inches in diameter, with custom sizing available above that.
It is used on building mains, horizontal laterals, vertical stacks, roof drains, and sanitary drain, waste and vent piping.
It works on cast iron, clay, PVC, ductile iron, and most other drainage materials, inside the building or out under the lot.
Technically yes, the liner has a wall thickness, commonly a few millimeters on a 4 to 8 inch line. In practice a lined pipe usually flows better than what you had, because you are trading a rough, scaled, tuberculated interior for a smooth one. If a line is already undersized for your fixture count, we will tell you that instead of lining it and hoping.
Most of the time, yes, and that is the whole point of doing it this way.
There is no trench, so there is no fenced off pit in your parking lot and no plywood over a hole in your dining room floor. Our equipment stages in a back of house area. The part of the job that actually affects you is a water use pause on the section we are working: while we clean, install, and cure a run, nothing can drain through it. That is a window we schedule with you, not a surprise we hand you at 9 a.m.
A single run is normally cleaned, lined, and back in service inside one working day. Larger systems get broken into runs so you are never down on all of it at once. If your building has more than one line, we sequence the work so the restrooms and the kitchen are never out on the same shift.
And we work your hours, not ours. Evenings, early mornings, and weekends are on the table for commercial jobs, because a Tuesday at 11 a.m. is the worst possible time to touch a restaurant’s drain and the best possible time to touch an office building’s. Tell us your slow window and we will build the schedule around it.
Want to see the residential version of the same process first? Trenchless pipe lining
Grease and hot water are hard on old cast iron, and kitchens are the last place anybody wants a trench. Lining is usually the difference between a scheduled overnight and a shut down week.
Anything built before about 1980 in Gainesville is a strong candidate, because cast iron was the standard drain material here from the 1940s into the early 1980s and it corrodes from the inside out.
Hair, product, and constant sink use scale a small line down fast. These are often short runs where a liner costs a fraction of opening the floor.
One failing shared line affects every tenant and every lease. Lining lets you fix the building without negotiating a closure with five businesses at once.
Vertical stacks, horizontal laterals, and roof drains can all be lined, which matters when the alternative is opening walls in occupied units.
Under slab lines that run beneath racking or equipment are exactly where digging gets expensive, because the real cost is moving everything sitting on top of it.
Need the whole commercial services picture, not just the sewer side? Commercial plumbing
If you prepare, process, or serve food in Gainesville, you already know GRU issues a grease interceptor discharge permit and inspects the interceptor, and that the city’s fats, oils and grease rules sit in the Gainesville Code of Ordinances. GRU publishes an Oil and Grease Management Manual that spells out what is expected. Enforcement is real, and it can reach service interruption and fines.
Here is where we fit and where we do not. We clean and line the drain lines running to and from your interceptor, and we camera them so you know what is actually in there. We do not pump interceptors. That work goes to a certified waste hauler permitted to operate in the city, and we would rather point you to the right one than pretend we do everything.
What we can tell you is that a scaled, grease coated cast iron line is a compliance problem waiting to happen, because it holds everything the interceptor was supposed to keep moving. Milling that line back open and lining it gives you a smooth interior that grease has a much harder time grabbing. That is a maintenance win, not just a repair.
Permits matter too. Florida requires a permit to alter, repair, or replace a plumbing system. Inside the city, that goes through the City of Gainesville building office. Out in unincorporated Alachua County, it goes through the county’s Growth Management Building Division. We pull what the job needs and we do not start work that should have been permitted.
Lining is not magic and we are not going to sell it to you when it is the wrong tool.
If a section has fully collapsed, there is nothing left to line against and that piece has to be dug and replaced. If the line has a real belly, a low spot holding standing water, a liner will faithfully reproduce the belly and you will be right back where you started. If the pipe is badly undersized for the fixture count you are running now, relining the same diameter does not fix a capacity problem.
And sometimes the answer is much smaller than any of this. Plenty of commercial calls that start as “we need the line replaced” end as a clearing and a descaling, and you keep your money.
We would rather tell you that on day one than take the bigger job and have you find out later. That is the whole business model.
Kim answers the phone and gets the details, including your slow window. Will walks the building and runs the camera himself, so the person quoting the job is the person who saw the pipe.
What gets cleaned, what gets lined, which runs go on which night, what stays in service, and what it costs. If a section needs to be dug instead, that is on the same page and priced separately.
You see the finished interior, not a description of it. We patch every hole we cut, using a professional drywall contractor, and the work carries a two year parts and labor warranty with the manufacturer warranty on top.

Usually yes. There is no trench and the equipment stages in a back of house area. The only real constraint is that nothing can drain through the run we are working while it is being cleaned, lined, and cured, and we schedule that window with you ahead of time.
A single run is normally cleaned, lined, and back in service inside one working day. Larger systems get split into runs across a few nights so you are never down on everything at once. Traditional dig and replace on the same line commonly runs one to two weeks.
Yes, that is usually how commercial work should be scheduled. Tell us your slow window and we will build around it. A restaurant gets an overnight, an office building gets a Saturday, and a retail space gets whatever hour costs it the least.
The liner does add a few millimeters of wall thickness. In practice a lined line usually flows better than the corroded cast iron it replaced, because the new interior is smooth and jointless. If your line is genuinely undersized for the fixtures on it, we will say so instead of lining it.
In most cases yes, once the line has been milled clean. We handle the lines. We do not pump interceptors, which has to go to a certified waste hauler permitted for the City of Gainesville, and we will point you to one.
That is one of the best uses for it. Under slab cast iron is the most expensive pipe in Florida to dig, and it is exactly the pipe that corrodes and scales. If the run still holds its shape, we can usually rebuild it from the inside without opening the floor.
Then that section gets dug and replaced, because there is nothing left to line against. We will show you on camera exactly where it is, dig only that piece, and line the rest. You get one scope with both parts priced.
These liners are engineered as a long term rebuild, not a patch, and manufacturers design them around decades of service. Ask us for the current NuFlow documentation for the product going into your building. Our own work carries a two year parts and labor warranty with the manufacturer warranty on top.

If lining is the right call, you get a written scope, a schedule built around your slow hours, and a line that works better than the one you have. If it is not, we will tell you that too, and you will still know exactly what you are dealing with.
