The offers running right now, with the real numbers on them.

Locally owned, owner on the job. Two year parts and labor warranty. We patch every hole we cut.
First Choice Plumbing publishes its plumbing specials for Gainesville and Alachua County instead of hiding them behind fine print. Right now you get a free whole-home plumbing inspection with any water heater installation, a flat $69 service call that is waived on larger jobs, and $375 leak detection backed by our find it or you don’t pay guarantee. Call or text 352-377-9447.
Put in a new water heater with us, tank or tankless, and we walk your whole house before we leave. Every shutoff, every supply line, the drains, the pressure, the water quality signs. You get a written list at the end of what is fine, what to watch, and what needs attention now. No charge, and no obligation to have us fix a single thing on it.
That is what it costs to get a licensed plumber to your door, diagnose the problem, and tell you what it will take to fix it. It is waived on larger jobs, roughly $800 and up. No trip charge stacked on top, no fuel surcharge, no separate diagnostic fee.
Flat rate to come out and locate a hidden leak, including under a slab. If we cannot find it, you owe us nothing. We also write the whole thing up for your insurance carrier at no extra charge.
If you are on a well anywhere around Hawthorne, Melrose, Waldo, Micanopy, Archer or High Springs, we will test your water at no charge and tell you straight whether you actually need treatment. Sometimes the answer is that you do not.
A repipe or a septic replacement does not have to come out of savings in one hit. Check your options without a hard credit pull, and you are not paying a franchise markup on top of the loan.
Not a promotion, not something you have to ask for. Two years on our parts and our labor, with the manufacturer warranty stacked on top of that.
One offer per job. Ask when you book so we can note it on the ticket. Or just call: (352) 377-9447.
Go look at the other plumbing specials pages in Gainesville. You will find dollars-off coupons on jobs whose base price is never shown, and a line of fine print saying service fees may apply and offers cannot be combined. So you still have no idea what the visit costs until somebody is standing in your hallway with a clipboard.
We think that is backwards, and we think it is why so many people around here tell us the last plumber quoted them a crazy price. When the number is hidden, the discount is the only thing you can compare, and a big discount off an unknown number is not information. It is a magic trick.
So here is ours. $69 to come out. $375 to find a hidden leak, free if we cannot find it. Everything else gets priced in front of you before anybody touches a pipe, and you can say no. If the honest answer is that you do not need the work yet, we will tell you that too, and it costs you $69 to hear it.

A lot of “free inspections” are a two minute look under the kitchen sink so somebody can write you a quote. Ours takes real time, because the point is that you end up knowing your own house better than you did that morning. Here is the list.
You keep the written list whether you hire us for a single thing on it or not.
Not ready to book anything yet? Read how the leak detection guarantee works first.
GRU pulls from the Floridan Aquifer and treats it at the Murphree plant, and it comes out moderately hard, around 140 milligrams per liter as calcium carbonate, which is about 8.2 grains per gallon. That mineral ends up as scale in the bottom of your tank. GRU's own water quality guidance points people with a rotten egg smell at their water heater and suggests annual flushing and swapping a magnesium anode rod for an aluminum one. So the free inspection is tied to a water heater install on purpose. That is the appliance our water works hardest on.
Gainesville grew hard through the 1960s and 70s, which means a pre-1975 house almost certainly still has original cast iron drains. Anything built or repiped between about 1978 and 1995 sits in the polybutylene window, and polybutylene fails at the fittings, usually without warning. Fifteen minutes of looking during a free inspection tells you which one you are living with.
No basement means your supply lines run through concrete, so a leak can run for weeks before it shows up as a warm spot on the floor or a water bill that doubled. That is exactly the situation the $375 find it or you don't pay price exists for.
| What you are comparing | First Choice Plumbing | Typical Franchise or Big-Name Brand |
|---|---|---|
| Service call fee | Published right here: $69 flat, waived on larger jobs | Not published. You call to find out. |
| Diagnostic pricing | $375 leak detection, and free if we cannot find it | Quoted at the door, after the truck is in your driveway |
| Offer terms | Written in plain English on this page, before you call | Limit one per household, cannot be combined, service fees may apply |
| Who shows up | Will, the licensed owner, on estimates. Mike, background checked, on service calls. | Whoever dispatch has closest, on a commission plan |
| Warranty | Two years parts and labor, manufacturer warranty on top | Often one year, sometimes labor only |
| Holes cut in drywall | We patch every hole we cut, with a real drywall contractor | Patching is left to you |
| Financing | Wisetack, from around $500, on a price with no franchise fee baked in | Financing offered on a price that already carries the brand's overhead |
| Local knowledge | GRU water, pre-1975 cast iron, the polybutylene window, city versus county permits | Copy that could be about any city in the country |
Coupons are easy to print. The things in that table are the ones that actually decide whether you feel good about the bill three weeks later, and none of them expire.
The four situations below cover most of the calls we get about these specials. Pick yours, and if it is none of them, just call and tell Kim what is going on.
Where these offers apply: Gainesville, Hawthorne, Alachua, Newberry, Archer, Micanopy, Waldo, Melrose, High Springs, Williston, Interlachen and Keystone Heights.

Financing. A discount off a repipe is nice. Being able to do the repipe at all is better. We finance through Wisetack starting at around $500, you can check your options without a hard credit pull, and because we are not paying a franchise a cut of every ticket, you are financing a smaller number in the first place. Ongoing care. If you would rather stay ahead of the problems than react to them, ask us about the maintenance plan when you call. An annual look at the house catches the running toilet and the tired water heater before either one turns into a weekend. Membership plan
Tell Kim which offer you want. She answers the phone and does the dispatching, so it gets noted on the ticket right then.
$69 flat, or $375 if it is leak detection. You get the price for the actual repair in front of you before anything gets touched, and you can say no.
Two years parts and labor, and every hole we cut gets patched.
The free whole-home inspection is worth more than any dollars-off coupon you will find, because you get the install and a full picture of the rest of the house in the same visit.
Start with leak detection. $375, and nothing if we cannot find it. We write it up for your insurance carrier too.
Take the free water test before you spend a dollar on treatment. Our aquifer runs high in iron and sulfur, and private wells are not regulated, so testing is on you. We will tell you honestly if you do not need a system.
Forget the offers. Call the emergency line and shut the water off at the main while you wait.
No. There is nothing to print, clip or show at the door. Just tell us which offer you want when you call, text or book online, and we note it on the ticket.
The $69 is already the discounted, all-in price to get a licensed plumber out and get a real diagnosis, so we do not stack offers on top of it. What we do instead is waive it entirely on larger jobs, roughly $800 and up. That is a bigger break than any coupon.
Yes, when you have us install a water heater. There is no separate fee and no requirement to buy anything we find. You keep the written list either way, and you are welcome to take it to another plumber.
Generally one offer per job, and we will tell you which one saves you more. If two of them genuinely apply to two different pieces of work, say so when you book and we will sort it out honestly.
They run until we say otherwise, and we will update this page when something changes. We are not going to put a fake countdown clock on your water heater.
Emergency and after-hours work is priced differently than a scheduled weekday call, and we tell you that on the phone before we roll a truck. Nobody finds out about it on the invoice.
Then it is small and you pay for something small. We would rather tell you the toilet needs a $12 flapper and keep you as a customer for the next fifteen years than sell you a rebuild you do not need.
You know what it costs to get us out, you know what the leak detection guarantee is, and you know what the free inspection covers. When you are ready, one call sets it up. Or book online.
